In 2014, I was a part of a youth group that held an Operation Christmas Child packing party. My family and I went to the store and bought a few things and then went to pack a few boxes. Operation Christmas Child soon became my favorite charity and I could not wait until the next year to pack more boxes. In 2015, however, my family moved to a different state. I no longer could go to the packing party to pack boxes. Instead, my mom and I decided to host our own packing party for some of my friends and I. In 2015, we shipped out 32 boxes. In 2016, we held the packing party again, but we had a much larger goal: 100 boxes. With the help and donations from the attendees and the community, we achieved our goal and shipped out exactly 100 boxes. Now, I am preparing for the 2017 packing party. Year-round shopping and some help from the community will be how this goal is met.
