Deals are sometimes very hard to find. Always looking around is the best way to find them, but sometimes a little bit of help is a welcome surprise. This deal alert is for notebooks, pencils, and rulers. The first part is notebooks. They are one cent each, limit 3, and you have to spend five dollars before that. You can also combine this deal with the other one cent deals. These are excellent to send, especially for older kids, so that the recipient has something for school. Next is 2 packs of pencils. They follow the same rules as the notebooks and are one cent each. I will break up these into smaller packs to make sure that all of my boxes get pencils. Lastly is rulers. There are two types and you can have 3 each. Half are pink and the other half are wooden. They fit in GO boxes if you stand them up diagonally.
It's time for another video! This week, my brother shows you the Disney box he made for a 5-9 boy. It even has the printable coloring book available here. You can watch the video here or down below. Thank you all for your continued support! We hit 25 subscribers last week! Yay! Don't forget to comment, like, and subscribe!
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! OCCEVERYDAY is now on YouTube! I figured that it would be much easier to show you guys complete boxes in video form. The first video is part of my goals for 2017- a completely free box! I will not be actually sending this box as is, but rather adding the items to other boxes to make themes. I just wanted to prove to myself and others that an OCC box can be done for very little cost. Please check out the video attached below and the channel linked here! There are three different types of shoeboxes that can be used for OCC: plastic, actual shoeboxes, and GO boxes. I always use GO boxes and here is why. REASON 1: They are cheaper than plastic shoeboxes. Plastic shoeboxes have to be purchased, and you have to buy the good ones too. If you buy the cheap boxes, like the ones at the Dollar Tree, they will break before they are even shipped out. I prefer to just buy the GO boxes by paying the small donation and then focus my extra funds on what is IN the boxes. REASON 2: They are standard in size. This is my main reason for packing boxes in GO boxes. It helps me, Samaritan's Purse, and the kids. It helps me then I don't have to have every single box ready when I start putting items together for boxes in June. All of the boxes are the same size so I can build one and store things in plastic bags. It helps Samaritan's Purse by lowering shipping costs. They ship boxes in palates, and they pay the same for a palate no matter how many boxes are in there. Boxes that are larger, not rectangular, and smaller mean that only 8-10 boxes can fit in a palate. 22 GO boxes fit on to one palate, so it saves on shipping. It also helps the kids because boxes are ordered in palates. If 20 kids need boxes, they would send one palate. 22 GO boxes could be on there, or 8 plastic boxes. It also helps prevent jealousy between kids because the boxes are standard and commonly used. The standard size and shape is the biggest reason I use GO boxes. REASON 3: They are easy. This may sound lazy, but I appreciate that I can order the boxes from one place and have all of my boxes arrive together. It allows me to use my time to look for deals, craft, and pack. But what about the cons? They can be exspensive for the company that makes them and they are flimsy. Here is how I address these cons. EXSPENSIVE FOR MAKER: They are often suggested as promotional items, but that is not how I use them. I pay the donation and pay for shipping too. Also, they help pay for themselves with being cheaper to ship. I pack over 100 boxes a year, and I hope that they are put together on a palate to really help save on shipping. FLIMSY: The boxes can be flimsy and they are not reusable. To help this, I duct tape as many boxes as I can. I don't always have the time or resources to do all of the boxes, but I do a good portion of the boxes. The duct tape is water proof, adds decor, and makes them thicker and stronger without taking up space. It is like sticky, resilient wrapping paper! I will do a tutorial on this soon. That is my argument for using GO boxes. What type of boxes do you use and why? I think that this topic is a very interesting one and I would to hear all of your opinions.
