Deals are sometimes very hard to find. Always looking around is the best way to find them, but sometimes a little bit of help is a welcome surprise. This deal alert is for flip flops and small toys. Flip flops are a great thing to include in boxes because they are less size specific than closed-toe shoes. Many kids that receive boxes don't have any shoes are have very worn-out shoes. Michael's Craft Store, a nation wide store, is clearing out their flip flops at 50% off, making them only $0.50 a pair. Along with their summer clearance, Michael's is clearing out part of their toy section. I have checked multiple Michael's and they all have some wind up toys, balls, and painting sets (they only have dry paint so they are appropriate for boxes) on clearance for $0.50. I got this wind up dino for my dino box. Have you seen any deals lately that might be available to others? Please comment if you have!

Last week, I went to Walmart and I found one of my best finds yet. It was a surprise egg left over from Easter...and it was only $0.10! I was so excited to open it that I took the picture still inside Walmart! I couldn't believe that it was still there from Easter. Inside of the egg was this cute little plush puppy clip. He will make a great addition to a box! I also saved the egg to use as a soap dish in a box. It was plenty big and really sturdy. That was my fun find. What have you found recently?
A few days ago, I was very lucky to be given $50 by my grandparents to spend at the Dollar Tree for OCC. I got 45 things and they totaled to about $50 with tax. I broke the haul into three parts so that it isn't too long. Part three is toys. The first things that I got are these packs of party favors. I needed some frog toys for the frog box so I got the 10 little animals and these plane whistles. The whistles are really nice quality and I want some myself! I got these cute little wooden blocks for a 2-4 box. They have little letters on them. I got this jump rope and ball. They are cute and it is always good to include some active toys. Next I got some stuffed animals. There is a little lamb that the store still had from Easter and a (fabulously posed) long armed monkey. I picked up four puzzles. One for my dinosaur box, one for each Disney box, and a gecko puzzle for the frog box (they didn't have frog puzzles). I got this little car. I have read that cars with bigger wheels are better because some kids play with the cars on rough, uneven floors. This car is much larger than a Hot Wheels, so I thought it would be perfect. The Dollar Tree had these cute little Mickey and Minnie sand toys so I got them to finish up the Disney boxes. The final thing from my huge haul is these three lego sets. I love them in my boxes and the fact that the instructions are pictures not words make me so happy. That is everything that I got in my huge Dollar Tree haul. Thank you so much to my grandparents for donating the money and taking me to the Dollar Tree! What was your favorite item that I got?
A few days ago, I was very lucky to be given $50 by my grandparents to spend at the Dollar Tree for OCC. I got 45 things and they totaled to about $50 with tax. I broke the haul into three parts so that it isn't too long. Part two is clothing, school supplies, and other assorted items. The first thing is socks. I got two three packs and a pair for my brother's girl Disney box. Next is this four pack of green cups. They are luau themed and just too cute! I got some snack containers and plates for my grandma's frog box. Unfortunately, the plates don't fit very well but I might be able to squeeze one in. I got three size small t-shirts. They are very high quality and I was impressed that the striped one was at the Dollar Tree! I got this bright green t-shirt for the frog box. It is a medium, but it looks like it will fit a kid aged between 4-7 so it will go in a 2-4 box. I got 36 pencil sharpeners for only $3. They work out to be only 8 cents each! Pencil sharpeners are so necessary for boxes and this is how I buy them every year. I got this 5 pack of notepads. 20 cents for a decent sized notepad is excellent! I got this coloring book for my dinosaur themed box. It is based off of Toy Story, but it has a dinosaur on the cover and a few inside so I thought it would be perfect. Lastly, I got this 48 packs of crayons. I am going to use it to make 4 sets of 12 crayons. I will post later about how to make the cute little case I am using for the crayons. That is all for this part. I got quite a few multi-packs of items which are great for keeping the cost down. I am so happy with all of the things that I got. The last part is toys!
Yesterday, I was very lucky to be given $50 by my grandparents to spend at the Dollar Tree for OCC. I got 45 things and they totaled to about $50 with tax. I broke the haul into three parts so that it isn't too long. Part one is hygiene items. The first thing that I got it three 8-packs of tissues. They came out to only 12.5 cents each. That's a deal I can't beat! Almost all of my toothbrushes are donated by my dentist, but I needed some specific colors for themes. I have an Angry Birds themed box so I got a toothbrush and case for that. I also needed a green toothbrush, so I went ahead and got the 4 pack with cases. I got three 4 packs of washclothes. These are such nice quality and sooo soft! I got two 3-packs of soap. I am. It very familiar with any of the Dollar Tree soap, so I got two brands to see what I like best. Lastly I got these frog themed items for a box for my grandmother. She loves frogs so I told her I would theme a box for her. This loofah and headband were perfect! That is all for the hygiene items I got. I'm really happy with just how much I got! The useful items are so important so I prioritized getting them. What would you do with $50 to Dollar Tree for OCC?
